Sophia L. Jackson

Assistant Director

Sophia Lorraine Jackson was raised in Newnan, Georgia. She went to a different elementary school each year throughout her early childhood education. Her family set roots in Newnan and she attended East Coweta middle and High school consistently.   

After graduating from ECHS, Sophia moved to Florida and went on to pursue her college education from Lee University and earn a B.S. in Pastoral Ministry with a focus in Counseling. In Florida, she joined a non-profit leadership program, where she attended and trained for three years. During her time in the leadership program, Lead Institute, Sophia learned and became efficient in public speaking, management, conflict resolution, and student mentorship. She also worked with Excel Christian Academy as a Pre-School, Spanish, and drama teacher. It was during this time, Sophia’s passion for education was cultivated. 

Sophia moved back to Georgia in 2016 and accepted a position as Parent Liaison at Sarah Smith Elementary School. In 2018, Sophia began working for LaAmistad as Parent Liaison and now, as Assistant Director. She is passionate about education and breaking cultural barriers.  In her free time, Sophia enjoys acting, writing music, and cooking.
